The Art of 3D Filmmaking
The art of 3D filmmaking with John Hart.
John Hart was born in Glendale, CA in 1940. In 1946 his mother gave him some stereocards and a stereoscope to keep him amused while she worked in her classroom. John fell in love with 3-D on the spot.
During the 1950s John was an avid 3-D comic book collector and drew anaglyphs with colored pencils. He begged his parents to take him to every 3-D movie that screened in 1953-54. He managed to see most of them.
He joined the Pasadena Stereo Club in the 1960s where he learned about Bolex 3-D. He has had a fascination with amateur 3-D movies ever since.
Joining the SCSC, he helped found the 3-D Movie/Video Division in 1982. Serving as the chairman of the Division for twenty eight years, John was recently honored with a lifetime SCSC membership and recognized as 3-D Movie Chairman Emeritus. He is thrilled by the current 3-D movie renaissance.
