Grant Monk, Director of Photography
Grant Monk served as Director of Photography and VFX Supervisor for the promotional films for the 2010 Big Bear Horror Film Festival.
With over a decade in the entertainment industry, Grant has shot, written, and/or directed projects that have screened in events at the American Cinematheque, the Echo Park Film Center, and several film festivals, and have been broadcast nationally on American Movie Classics.
Grant has created and/or produced work in the world of visual effects and motion graphics for companies including Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, Paramount, and numerous other companies.
During his tenure at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE), Grant was the creative producer for the home entertainment campaigns of all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies, both National Treasure films, and numerous other projects, ranging from Mickey Mouse shorts, to trailers promoting over twenty different Jerry Bruckheimer films. He was instrumental in launching the Blu-ray format; produced promotional A/V seen worldwide, and helped lay the foundation and set technical standards for WDSHE's transition into High Definition advertising, including trailering and broadcast work.
More recently, Grant has become a leader in stereoscopic 3D, producing the first multi-studio 3D demo on behalf of Real-D, the 3D industry leader, for the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He produced the Blu-ray 3D logo which will appear on Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's premiere Blu-ray 3D release, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. He recently supervised the shoot for, and is currently producing, Disney's first trailer promoting the Blu-ray 3D format.
